School of Public Health Ranked Top 25 Best Public Health School by U.S. News

UTHealth Houston School of Public Health has achieved top 25 ranking among 209 graduate schools of public health, according to the U.S. News & World Report.

Among publicly-funded institutions offering graduate-level degrees in public health, UTHealth Houston School of Public Health ranks No. 9 nationally, and holds its position as No. 1 in Texas.

This acknowledgment highlights the institution's dedication to excellence in education, research, and public health practice. Through innovative research and rigorous academic programs, the school remains committed to addressing pressing public health challenges and continues to solidify its reputation as a leader in the field.

Amidst significant public health challenges worldwide, the school is dedicated to advancing the field of public health by training the next generation of leaders and establishing a broad impact. After completing their degrees, students are prepared to apply positive change in health culture through research, community engagement, and implementation.

Founded in 1967, UTHealth Houston School of Public Health was the first public health school established in Texas. Since its inception, the school has opened six locations across the state — including Austin, Brownsville, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, and San Antonio — crafting a vast imprint in the state. Comprised of five departments, students are given specialized training in areas of the field such as Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences, Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences, and Management, Policy & Community Health.

Over the past three years, the school's national ranking has steadily risen, spearheaded by exemplary faculty who lead groundbreaking research and leadership who continue to work to eliminate the barriers to achieving health equity.
