This is an in-person conference and will focus on the intersection between Healthcare & Allied Health Services to support inter-professional team work to optimize bone health in older adults.

Complimentary breakfast and lunch available.

The Institute on Aging Conference Seminar will present and discuss diagnosis, treatment, early interventions, data, and paradigms for caring for aging populations. The Symposium Chairmen and Program Directors designed the 2024 scientific program by consulting current peer-reviewed literature, national data and guidelines, accredited education needs assessment surveys, and evaluation outcomes from previous programs in the series.

Program

The conference on Comprehensive Geriatric approach to Bone Health will focus on optimizing care for older adults suffering from bone loss, osteoporosis and associated fractures:

  • Bone physiology and structure in relation to bone loss and fragility fractures
  • Geriatric approach to primary and secondary prevention of fragility fractures
  • Understanding current concepts of dementia and bone loss
  • Approaching bone health in older adults with chronic co-morbidities including dental/oral health
  • Role of inter-professional teamwork for the prevention of falls and fractures
